Staff:
Wayne Stehlik has been involved in athletics for over 25 years. As a coach and administrator, he has witnessed first hand how the world of athletics has evolved. Raised on a farm in Nebraska, he began his coaching career at Nebraska Wesleyan University and continued coaching at the University of Kansas, while also completing a Master’s degree in Education. In 1985, following a two year stint as the Head Basketball and Golf Coach at Baker University, Wayne moved to Fayetteville to join the University of Arkansas Basketball staff. During the next 17 years, he was part of a staff that coached in 3 Final Fours and won the 1994 National Championship. In 2002, he was named Director of Development for Women’s Athletics at the University of Arkansas. During this time he was involved in the University’s Billion-dollar Campaign for the 21st Century, which proudly took the University of Arkansas to the Next Level. During 2008, Wayne served as assistant coach with the Mexican national team under head coach Nolan Richardson. In 2009, he was the Activity Director at Fayetteville High School. He is currently the Assistant Coach of the WNBA Tulsa Shock. Wayne is married to Tracey Stehlik and they have two children, Mollie and Maggie.
